HOW EXTENSIVE IS SOUND PRODIGY'S MUSIC COLLECTION?
Well, Sound Prodigy currently owns over 4000 CDs plus several thousand individual songs spanning from the 1920ís big band to hot dance hits of the 2000's and everything in between. More specific categories include, Rock N Roll, Techno, Rhythm & Blues, Oldies, Dance, Jazz, Top 40, Latin Swing and much more.
HOW DO I BOOK YOU FOR AN EVENT?
Simple. All we need to do is get together for our initial consultation and sign an entertainment agreement for the event with a $200.00 deposit to insure the date is now yours. However, as a courtesy, I will reserve the date for you until the time of our consultation. Once we have had our consultation, we can plan all the specifics of your event. I understand how busy life can get; therefore, I have the ability to come to you for the consultation at no extra cost. If your event is one that is fairly basic and does not require a lot of planning, there is even the option of setting everything up via telephone, email, and/or fax. The decision is up to you.
CAN I MAKE SONG REQUESTS?
Absolutely. Remember this is your party. I will play whatever is going to keep you and your guests happy. During the consultation, we will go over what music you would like to be played at your event. Your music does not have to be hand picked. As long as I have a music style to go on, you can leave the rest to me. I also have a strict guideline on playing appropriate music. If there is a certain type of music that you do not want played at your event, I will politely tell your guest that I do not have the selection requested. This way, we can avoid upsetting any of your guys. I will, however, make plenty of suggestions as to what we could do play instead to keep everyone happy.
DO YOU TAKE BREAKS?
NO! From the time the music starts to the very last song, everything will be non-stop. The only exception is when I may need to make an announcement. I like to keep a “flow” to the music and how I do things. From start to finish, sometimes fast, sometimes slow but always fun much like a roller coaster ride.
WHAT KIND OF GAMES DO YOU PROVIDE?
I have numerous games for all ages, for children to adults. Some of them include, but are not limited to; relay races, bubble blowing, hula-hoop, hockey, fear factor, theme trivia Twister and much more. I also provide 1st place medals and ribbons to the winners and candy prizes for all participants so as to not leave anybody out. I also give out music CD’s too. Just to add another dimension to your show and one less thing to worry about when wanting to do something fun but non sure what to do.
DO YOU HAVE MY FAVORITE SONG?
Once we have our initial consultation, it is at that time in which I will inquire about any specific songs that you would like to hear during your event, so as to insure I obtain that tune you want. However, I do bring my whole collection of music with me onsite when I perform so I have a wide range of music. I know it may sound like overkill but I assure you, I like to come prepared for any situation that may arise.
CAN YOU MAKE ANNOUNCEMENTS?
SURE! Not only am I a professional Disc Jockey, but also a qualified Emcee. I can be as much or as little vocal as you would like. I usually say enough to keep a party going but I certainly do not grandstand. When it comes to receptions or other events where a speaker is needed, I do have a very pronounced voice, speaking clear and annunciating every word to make sure I am properly understood.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?
I deal with everyone on a first come first basis; therefore I would recommend booking no later than 6 months prior to your event. I have booked a year in advance for clients that insisted in wanting me to provide the entertainment for their show, and did not want to miss out. Please keep in mind that I personally do all of the shows and I only have a small staff of DJ’s and technicians. That is the way I like it and I think most people do to. Because I am in high demand, I do recommend booking as soon as you have a date set for your event. If I am already booked, I have 3 other wonderful DJ’s that work for the company that could accommodate. Even if it is a last minute show, the DJ you had did not show, or whatever the reason, I am always on call.
HOW DO YOU DRESS FOR YOUR SHOWS?
I basically dress to suit your needs. For wedding ceremonies and receptions, I always wear a black dress shirt with tie, coordinated to match your wedding colors. At your request, I will wear a tux. I also use multi-colored, embroidered, Sound Prodigy shirts with khaki pants and black dress shoes. If it is a theme party I always dress the suit the theme: everything from a Zoot Suit for the swing parties to a retro bowling shirt and jeans with the cuffs rolled up for the 1950's sock hop. It is your call.
ARE YOU INSURED?
Definitely! I carry a $2 million policy with R.V. Nuccio & Associates. This policy covers any damage that I may cause due to negligence on my part. This includes damage to property and human beings as well. However, the client is still responsible for the conduct of their guests as well as themselves, as stated in my entertainment agreement. Any professional DJ will have insurance.
WHAT IF YOU ARE LATE?
Well, I have yet to be late or even miss a show and that is the way I plan to keep it. Now, I know we do not live in a perfect world and problems do arise, however I like to deal with that when it happens. I always show up a full 1 to 2 hours before hand to set up equipment and deal with any unforeseen problems. I always take into consideration traffic, weather conditions, and parking. In the unlikely event I cannot make the show due to serious illness or family emergency; I can help provide a replacement for you. I have 3 other DJ’s that work for the company, plus I do network with a couple other DJ’s that I like and usually they are only a phone call away. Just know that for me, it is not as simple as calling in sick. I have to be seriously ill to miss your show. I want you to know that I really do understand the importance of your event and I will make every attempt to insure that I arrive on time and I do a great job.
WHAT IF I WANT YOU TO PLAY LONGER ON THE NIGHT OF THE SHOW?
I only book one show a day; therefore you have secured me for the whole day. If, when the show is over, you would like me to play longer, it will be at a discounted rate. Staying longer is very rarely an issue.
WHEN DOES YOUR PAID TIME START?
Your paid time starts at the time arranged during our consultation. For example, during our consultation, if you decide that you want your event to start at 3:00pm, that is when your paid time will start. If I get there at 1:00pm to set up, I am not charging for that to give you the full amount of time. *If you meet a DJ that charges for set up Beware*
DO LIGHTING AND VISUAL EFFECTS MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
Most definitely they do. Lighting and fog add a sense of energy motion and atmosphere to a show. I have top of the line lighting effects for any occasion. From simple to the more advanced effects, I have everything from colored floodlights, black lights, disco ball, and plenty of other special lights to dance with. I also have fog, haze, bubble, and snow machines (foam). I also can supply simulated fire affects. I think that visual effects are well worth it for any show.
DO YOU HAVE CLEAN VERSIONS OF SONGS?
Now I do not like to offend, that is why Sound Prodigy offers clean radio edits of all the music that you will hear. I purchase my hits from the largest subscriber of music to most of the radio stations from coast to coast. Anything that is NOT deemed acceptable by FCC (Federal Communications Commission) standards is not played. So rest assured, there will be NO foul language in my music.
